Come explore nocturne art and sky gazing. Join artist Cedar Keshet in an evening of art making and camaraderie.
We will be creating a simple Nocturne artwork (an nocturne is an artwork done at night) with supplies provided. This will be orchestrated by Artist Cedar Keshet. No previous art skills are required, just a willingness to have fun and try a new activity.
Materials will be provided. Please bring whatever you want to drink. Sunset is forecast for after we meet so we will have time for an an intro on the project and learn the simple art skills involved. Then we will create! We’ll end up around 9:30-10ish p.m.
Things to bring:
- Headlamps, red please! We want to keep it Dark Skies friendly so no big lights. Red headlamps work well for finding stuff, walking around and reading a map while a contained small white headlamp is helpful when making art.
- Bug spray, probably a good idea. No sunscreen is necessary, lol
- Jacket, sweater, hat, gloves, etc as it could get chilly as the evening progresses. Some people bring their blankies.
- Camp chair or similar seating
- Any art supplies that are small and portable will be welcome for you to bring & use but NOT at all necessary. We will provide art materials for you.
- Water or other drink of your choice
- Picnic supper or snacks if you like.
- No music or other noises, please, so we can enjoy nature’s symphony
- No drones obviously
- Family friendly for all humans but please leave critters at home.
